As Grace Paley once said, "I have started many novels and they all end on page seven."
I started writing sometime after my fortieth birthday and the birth of my fourth child. Writing saved me from the loneliness of motherhood despite the fact, I was never alone. I earned my MFA in Fiction from Emerson College in 2012 where I was a Dean's Fellow and won the Graduate Award in Nonfiction and named one of Boston's top MFA Students by Kneerim and Williams. Since that time, life has taken over. It is funny how whole days, months and years can be taken up with children, divorce, and work. My children are grown now, and I joyfully rule my empty nest. Now, I will take the hundreds of pages that sit in forgotten notebooks and folders and shape them into the book that has been patient for years.
